1927-1934

In January 1927, the Club set out to increase the number of holes to 18. On March 21, green committee members Kui Yukisuke, Umiya Ayao, Ookoshi Ookura, Yoshio Hayasaki, Mimaki Toshio and others put the plan into practice. In May, the Club was registered as a foundation. In October, Chen Qing-shui returned to Taiwan after completing his studies in Japan and became the first golf coach in Taiwan. In November, the course was expanded to 12 holes, and in April 1928, that number increased to 15. In April 1929, a course with 18 holes, a par of 72 and a total length of 6,000 yards was completed. The Club’s 10th anniversary celebration party was then held.

In May 1929, the Minister of Finance, Ookuchi, came to Taiwan as a national property committee member , helping the Club expand to 18 holes and secure approximately 120,000 pings of military land and the surrounding private land for the Taihoku Prefecture, under the management of the Taihoku Prefecture Government. Accordingly, the tenancy agreement between the Club and the Taihoku Prefecture Government has existed until today.

In September 1930, the Club officially joined the Japan Golf Association. In October of the same year, Chen Qing-shui won third place at the Japan Open tournament. In 1931, he was hired as a golf coach by the Tokyo Musashino Course and moved to Japan; he also took advanced studies for a short period while in Japan. After returning to Taiwan, he became the  Club’s golf coach, along with Guo Jin-shun. In November 1933, the very first “Taiwan Golf Player Association” formed within the Club. At that time new golf clubs were being established one after another in Central Taiwan, Hualian Harbor, and Tainan. This can be considered as a flourishing period for golf in Taiwan.

In February 1934, when renowned Japanese golf player Akaboshi Shirou visited Taiwan, the Club seized the opportunity and invited him to advise on the construction of the fairways. On his recommendations, the course was expanded to a 6,530 yard par-70 Championship Course. The  construction of the 18-hole course was finally completed
